‘Only Murders in the Building’ season 5 brings back Selena Gomez and more this September

Fans of Selena Gomez and the wildly popular mystery-comedy series ‘Only Murders in the Building’ have a reason to celebrate; the show is officially coming back with Season 5!

Hulu has confirmed that the new season will premiere on September 9, 2025. And here’s the exciting part. The first three episodes will release on the same day!

After that, viewers can catch a new episode every week.

This season’s mystery centers around a sudden tragedy. Charles (played by Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) are back together after the mysterious death of their trusted building doorman, Lester.

While many around them believe it was just an unfortunate accident, the trio smells something fishy and decides to dig deeper.

As they begin their search for the truth, they’re pulled into a much bigger and darker mystery. Their investigation takes them across the city, and even beyond, where they run into a world full of secrets.

From dealing with the super-rich to crossing paths with old gangsters and shady neighbours, the three friends discover that New York is changing in strange and scary ways.

The upcoming season will feature familiar faces and exciting new ones. Alongside returning cast member Michael Cyril Creighton, big stars such as Meryl Streep, Renee Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, Nathan Lane, Logan Lerman, and Bobby Cannavale will appear as guest stars.

Since the show’s debut in 2021, it has captured the hearts of viewers worldwide. Mixing humour, mystery, and friendship, it has grown into one of Hulu’s biggest hits.

It has already received close to 60 Emmy nominations, including seven this year alone, with one being for Best Comedy Series.

Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, the show is production of 20th Television. The main cast of Martin, Gomez, and Short also help shape the series as executive producers, along with Hoffman and others.
